I have been a Master of Wine for over 25 years and have been involved in the industry for over 3 decades. My passion for wine took me from my native New Zealand to London, a perfect base from which to explore the fascinating world of wine.
After completing a degree in Politics, I spent a few years travelling and working around the world, including a stint in television in New Zealand and sailing across the Pacific.
Wine crept up on me while I worked in restaurants in Auckland and London, both 'fine dining' and more casual. I ran the staff restaurant for world-renowned architects, Foster & Partners, while working on my Diploma, before selling wines for the groundbreaking agency Winecellars, under Nick Belfrage MW and David Gleave MW. I moved on to sales management roles at Enotria and Bibendum before striking out on my own.
I have been an examiner for the Institute of Masters of Wine, and continue to mentor and tutor MW students across the world.
I am a passionate and accomplished cook, a voracious reader, an avid traveller and retain an intense interest in politics and human rights.
