Making Connections with Wine
Entertaining with a wine theme is an excellent way to bring friends or teams together or to help with industry networking.
I can customise an event, whether for business or private, to match any combination of budget, wine knowledge, number of people and venue. It can be anything from an intimate tasting of grand cru wines over dinner in a private home, to fun blind-tasting competitions for a corporate event, or more formal, tutored, how-to-taste wine sessions.
tutored tastings
Guided tastings focusing on a theme are a great way to learn about wine. The focus might be a single grape or country of origin, or something more esoteric like volcanic wines. Such tastings can be stand alone or part of a bespoke wine course. Even though tutored tastings sound serious, I always aim to make them accessible and enjoyable.
competitions
Following years of hosting tastings, I know that people love a competition. As part of a corporate wine tasting event, I can include a competitive element, with teams and individuals vying for success. Competitive wine tasting is good for team building and for networking too. Prior knowledge doesn't always help; it's all about what's in the glass!
dinner talks & Tastings
A pre-dinner wine tasting is a great way to entertain clients, end a conference or event or kick off a relaxed dinner amongst friends or colleagues. It can be themed around business or personal interests. 'Wines from Emerging Markets' for an investment banking team or 'The Bride's Life in Wine' for a hen night: anything is possible.
Companies I have worked for include
JP Morgan, Edmond de Rothschild Private Merchant Banking, Air New Zealand, Saracens Rugby Club, Investec, Capital Access, ConvEx, Morgan Stanley, Chief Wine Officer, Qantas, the RAC, and many private clients.
